Private Dwellings

Mild Steel, Powder Coated

In this latest body of works entitled Private Dwellings, I continued my investigation on the notion of public spaces and refuge. These sculptures possess familiar visual cues but at the same time, there is a sense of unfamiliarity through its unique construction of space. Within these spaces, traces of its occupants and their activities are obscured and time is indistinguishable. These sculptures are often in monochrome and constructed in a minimalistic fashion with spaces concealed, in an attempt to mislead unwanted attention, invoking a sense of melancholy.
