Beneath Identical Skies
Emulsion on Treated Wood
2026
Within an apparent uniformity, two house-like forms fold into one another, their rigid geometries softened through moments of negotiation and overlap. Walls bend, planes slip, and edges relinquish their authority, transforming enclosure into threshold. The work reflects a condition of living between two homes across two countries. As the structures merge, distinctions blur between presence and absence, here and elsewhere, until what was once a boundary becomes porous, allowing one dwelling to seep into another. Beneath identical skies, distance is compressed, not erased but held in tension.
The work embodies a subtle oscillation, continually shifting between anchoring and release. Longing settles into form, and architecture becomes a vessel for emotional transit rather than a fixed site of belonging.
