Verdant Cascades

Emulsion on Treated Wood

2024

Verdant Cascades is a sculptural exploration of movement, resilience, and transformation. Composed of interlocking planes and sweeping curves, the work appears caught mid-shift, simultaneously pressing forward and folding inward. The structure suggests a controlled turbulence in which edges bend under imagined force, surfaces overlap and interrupt one another, and voids are carved through mass, allowing breath and tension to coexist.

Cloaked in deep purple, the sculpture invokes an emotional terrain, lending a sense of interiority and gravity despite its dynamic form. Created during a period of relocation, movement is translated through resistance rather than flow. Tensioned bends, compressed volumes, and abrupt directional shifts speak to resilience formed through pressure and constraint.
